Effective management and custodianship of donor funding is a core competence and PPT has a successful and well established track record in this regard. PPT is widely recognized for its proven systems, management capability, tight financial controls, strong corporate governance and innovation. These are central to its success in delivering exceptional value to donors both in terms of value for money and developmental impacts.

Adding Value to Donors:

PPT is uniquely positioned to add value to donor funders and to assist them in meeting their funding objectives. Some of the main reasons for this are outlined below:

  • Experience in working with a diversity of donor funders with widely varying developmental aspirations and compliance requirements.
  • The ability to conceptualise initiatives which are appropriate and relevant to local conditions and which address real needs or issues at grassroots level.
  • Strong reporting abilities.
  • Tight financial controls.
  • Proven corporate governance and accountability.
  • Extensive experience with various logical frameworks.
  • Strong monitoring and evaluation skills.
  • Ability to rapidly up-scale capacity through proven out-sourcing capability.
  • Extensive networks and working associations with government, other civil society organizations and development professionals.
  • Knowledge of local socio-political risk factors and the ability to accommodate these.

Track Record with Donors:

PPT has received and successfully managed a wide range of funders and has a clean audit history in this regard. PPT wishes to extend its thanks to the following funders for their valued support over the years: United States Agency for International Development, European Union, Flanders Government, Nedbank Foundation, National Development Agency, Gijima KZN, Business Trust, Shared Growth Challenge Fund, U.K. Charity Aids Foundation, City of Leeds and private donors such as Angela Mai and Corrocoat.

Current Fundraising Priorities:

Securing sufficient funding for our developmental programmes is an ongoing challenge for PPT and represents the major constraint on our ability to enhance and up-scale the work we do, thereby increasing the number of beneficiaries we are able to reach. PPT is currently seeking additional funding to sustain and enhance the following priorities:

  • Multi purpose project preparation facility: Funding will be utilized to bridge-finance the preparation of a range of pro-poor developmental projects using the classic PPT model. When capital funding is approved, the preparation bridging finance is repaid into the Facility and it then utilized to finance the preparation of new projects.

  • Special needs housing and HIV AIDS relief: Funding is utilized to plan and prepare special needs housing projects (e.g. providing shelter and improved care for orphans and vulnerable children). Support is provided to welfare organizations / NPO’s. Feasibility and sustainability is carefully assessed. Capital funding is leveraged from various provincial Departments of Human Settlements for construction…read prospectus
